Yes, I am the dork who wanted to go to DC to see all the touristy things for her 2nd anniversary

We had a terrific time. Thankfully, I married someone just as dorky as me. :-) Weather was fab, hotel location was perfect and the sites were all amazing. (Yes, this was my first trip to DC.)

It was such a pleasant trip and I'm so glad we did it. Enjoy the photos below!

(for some reason, I'm not very keen on picasa, so I put the pics here.)

VV Memorial and then Smithsonian Castle

NASM

And Ben never understood...

...until this moment that in the winter when I say my fingers hurt because they're so cold, that I am really not making it up. Check out how cold my nose is!

My favorite part of the trip

If anyone knew how long I've waited to see these...

Yes, I am totally that person who takes pics in art museums.

Modern art building

From the top of the Washington Monument

National Archives

How in the world did I not know that we have a copy of the Magna Carta...how'd we steal that?

Ok, so I got in trouble for accidentally touching the Constitution's glass...

...totally marred the entire experience...and I was so excited. No one cared that I was totally leaning on the Declaration of Independence. Silly armed guards.

Sculpture garden

Natural History Museum (Smith'n) - OMG! I LOVED this place!

With bling like this, what girl wouldn't love this place?

Above is the Hope Diamond, but the most impressive piece with the 260 carat Napolean necklace...set in silver...what?

Seriously cheap...but yummy lunch

If only every city had trains!

It would be so great to catch a train and be at H'm Place Mall in 5 minutes....and having read your newest book in the meantime....
