My husband's way of fighting the crazy early morning sun in the UK

And last, a special thanks to Tom Tom for helping us navigate our way through the country. I will never understand how you're supposed to know where you are when no roads have names...but somehow Tom Tom does. She worked great (and even rerouted us when she knew there was a men's soccer game going on in the Cockfield town center). Unfortunately, I was never able to get a good pic of Tom Tom...but she'll remain in our memories forever. Tom Tom, we'll always have Felsham....

Random...

Eating!

For some reason, we ate a lot of Italian and a lot of sandwiches from little Italian looking shops while in the UK. Plus, a couple of fish and chips. Everything was yummy...including the canneloni we picked up at Waitrose (the "expensive store" from what we hear.) Oh, yeah, and of couse we hit the Felsham pub twice - and sat at the bar. I'm sure we were the talk of the town - those crazy Americans that want to eat at the bar?!

Harrod's Food Halls were absolutely amazing - we were like kids in a candy shop. I won't even say how much our lunch there was...but well worth the experience. Yummy gelato, too.

Liverpool Street Station was a source of food, too, strangely enough. The Upper Crust supplied me with lots of hot chocolate and several shared sandwiches for Ben and I. By the time we made it into the station, we were usually starved and running late...so it was a good option. Oh, it was also the source of this terrible doughnut - the English just don't seem to understand that you need to put sugar in pastries - and who knows why Ben picked up this horrible looking meal. Yuck!

We also ate Sultana Bran - what the heck are santanas? Raisins. Right.

What the heck's Brown Sauce? I dunno, but I'm scared to try it. :-)

These chips were awesome - took pic so I can look them up online - hope to find them in the States somewhere.

And then there was the over 900 year old cathredral at Norwich

Cute town.

Brighton was freezing! (But there were still people in the water...)

Crazy Brits...

We <3 English pubs!

Gotta love public transportation!

Gotta love being able to hit pubs then sober up on the long train ride home, huh babe?
We actually used the Colchester station more than Sudbury bec Sudbury was out for most of the trip due to maintenance work (you could take a bus instead, but the bus ride was incredibly long). We liked Colchester, though, bec you could get an express train with only 2 stops. When everything is working well, the regular train ride isn't that bad...but the night that Ben was snoring on the train and the English didn't realize he was my husband and were pointing and giggling at him...hehe...we were on the regular and we had to go incredibly slow due to rain...and it took a couple of hours to make it to Colchester (after waiting on a train for over an hour to arrive). Then we had a 45 minute drive home to Felsham. It was a long night.

More of the big city...

The National Gallery was amazing! Millenium Bridge was cool looking (our feet were killing us by that time, though)...should have done a tour of the Globe replica...we'll do that next trip.
Ben was creeped out by that statue in front of the Gallery...hehe.
