"Why bother? It's gonna hurt me...

...It's gonna hurt when you desert me
It's happened to me twice before
It won't happen to me anymore..."

Listened to some Weezer while trying to get the house back into shape this evening. I washed dishes for 5 hours straight (the dishwasher is still a bit inoperable).

I own a lot of stuff. The house has been such a wreck and not all of the boxes are unpacked yet. We've been focusing on having fun which means unpacking and keeping the house clean has gone to the wayside. This weekend, I am fixing this situation. I cannot live like this anymore.

So, we finished the first summer term this week...that gets a huge HOORAY! Ben is finally done with being in school four nights a week - this is such a relief. We both have only one class (2 nights/week) left (which we'll finish in 7 weeks) and no more school for us. (At least for the time being - who knows? I'd still like to maybe pursue a doctorate someday. We'll see. But at least it won't be in addition to my work schedule.) Lots of parentheses. Anyway, another A. I unfortunately made a B in my first class that I took for the MBA program - the only one of the 15 I've taken so far. :-( Too bad the teacher was a sexist pig. Too bad I'm going to have him again for my last class.

Pilates today was awesome. She promised to make it super tough next week, which is cool. I guess the week before a holiday she does really hard routines. Anyway, I can feel my arms and chest strengthening from it. Those side planks are about impossible 45 mins into it.

I got back into my regular workout routine this week, thank goodness. Life is settling down a bit. Now, if we could just get the house back into shape.

Work is going great. I can't even describe how happy I am to be out of engineering. Yesterday, I was on the phone with a guy in Knoxville and he asked, "So how are you liking the new gig?" and I replied, "Oh, it's amazing - what's great is you guys are so normal!" I only wish I could have made this move sooner. What a waste of my time it was to stay so unhappy in that horrible engineering group for so long.

That is one thing I definitely owe to Ben - he is the one who encouraged me to put my resume in for this position. I was sure I wouldn't get it and would never have had the courage to do it without his insistence.
